Nike keeps raiding the back of its outdoor closet, and the latest find is one even a lot of longtime heads forgot about. According to a first look from Sneaker News, the Baltoro Low is coming back for Spring 2027.
Quick history: the Baltoro started in 1990 as a rugged boot from Nike's ACG-era outdoor run, and like a lot of trail gear from that time, it ended up getting more wear on city sidewalks than on mountains. The low-cut version showed up in the mid-2000s as the easygoing cousin. The boot itself only came back to shelves about a year ago, so a low-top follow-up feels like Nike reading the room on all the hiking-meets-everyday shoes people actually wear.
Two colorways are in the first look. Velvet Brown (IX8657-200) is the grown-up one: deep brown suede and mesh with a textured khaki Swoosh panel and those little vented holes by the toe. Beyond Pink (IX8657-600) goes the other way with pink suede, a lilac panel and a crackled deep-purple Swoosh on a purple sole. Our take: the brown pair is the safe, wear-it-everywhere pick, and the pink pair is the one that'll sell out to the people who saw it first and didn't overthink it. Either way, a $135 retro trail shoe with this much texture is a pretty good deal by 2026 standards.
