Summer's over, but the split-toe isn't going anywhere. Nike has a new suede version of the Air Rift 2 in "Armory Navy/Chambray" (IV7715-400). Highsnobiety says it should drop soon at select stores like Naked Copenhagen, which lists it for DKK 1,000 with no date yet. US date and price are TBA.
The upper is a deep teal-navy suede with perforations running along the sides, with lighter chambray blue on the lining, the heel strap and the Swoosh. A tonal navy sole keeps it all one color story, so it's the Rift you know, just dressed for colder weather.
The Air Rift had a big summer, with the OG "Kenya" colorway back and plenty of new takes. Suede is the obvious next move for fall, and it works better than you'd think on a shoe that started as a sandal-adjacent runner.
Our take: tabi toes plus suede plus socks is a strong October look. You'll still get a few "are your toes okay?" questions. That's part of the fun.
