Black Friday just picked up a villain. The Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dr. Doom" is coming back on November 27 for $240, as reported by Sole Retriever, which now has fresh retailer images of the pair. It's set for Nike and select retailers, in-store and online, in unisex sizing.
The recipe hasn't changed much, and that's the point. A pitch-black Foamposite shell wraps the upper, black covers the eyestays, tongue and laces, and white takes over the oversized Swoosh, the lining and the rubber outsole. Two colors, no extras.
The history helps. "Dr. Doom" first dropped in 2006 and came back in 2016, so this run lands right on the 20-year mark. The timing works on the movie side too, with Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday putting Victor Von Doom front and center.
Our take: this is one of the few Foamposites that looks good with basically anything, because it's basically a tuxedo with a hard shell. If you missed 2016, this is your redo. If you still have your 2016 pair, it's probably time to check how that sole is holding up. And if you shop on Black Friday, this one is already on the list.
