Slam Jam has been teasing this one for weeks, and now it has a date. Per Sneaker Bar Detroit and Sneaker News, the Slam Jam x Nike Air Max 97 releases tomorrow, October 31, 2026, through Slam Jam. Price hasn't been shared yet.
The starting point is the 97 "Silver Bullet," which is a little funny, because the shoe is black. The Milan shop calls the idea "silver before refinement" and ties it to the 97's long run in Italian nightlife, where the shoe has basically been part of the dress code since the late '90s. Cracked leather covers the mudguard, a tumbled-looking material fills the recessed panels above it, and both textures repeat across the layered upper, so the all-black look has more going on up close than it does from across the room. The usual embroidered Swoosh is swapped for a small metal one, the sole gets a grainy texture, and white O-shaped markings run along the full-length Air unit.
Our take: this is the most Slam Jam way to do a Silver Bullet. Take the shiniest shoe in the Air Max family, make it black, make it rough, and give it one piece of actual metal. It will look great on a dark dance floor and even better the next morning, when the cracked leather hides all the evidence. Expect it to go fast with a Slam Jam-only release.
