Tyrese Maxey's first signature shoe barely had time to break in. The New Balance Maxey v1 debuted in early October in "Light Arctic Grey," and now, per official images first shared by Sneaker News, the second colorway is lined up: black with "Red Rock" overlays, landing November 2.
The color blocking is basically a copy of the debut pair, just flipped to the dark side. A black suede and mesh upper sits under those wavy brick-red overlays that wrap the midfoot and toe, the oversized N is outlined tonally, and the lining goes black instead of white. A blue NB tab on the heel and tongue is the only pop of something else.
Our take: the grey pair was the clean introduction, this one is the game-night shoe. Black and red is about as Philly-friendly as it gets without going full 76ers blue, and it's the kind of colorway that looks just as good with sweats as on the hardwood. If the Sixers keep winning, expect a lot more people to suddenly care about Tyrese's footwork.
