Every city gets a sneaker eventually, but only Glasgow gets one inspired by a traffic cone. Nike has put together a special-edition Air Max Plus for Scotland's largest city, and its own product copy opens with "What are you waiting for? Just Dae It." Honestly, that line alone deserves a round.
The pair (IX7920-001) comes in Black/Black/Safety Orange. That combo isn't new to the Plus, but the design is. Radiating lines wrap around the black mesh upper as a nod to Glasgow's rave scene, and an orange gradient glows through like a club at 2 a.m. The orange also points to the city's most famous accessory: the cone that keeps ending up on the Duke of Wellington statue. An orange cone is embroidered behind the tongue, the right tongue badge gets its own cone graphic, "Glasgow" is stitched on the tongues, and the Tuned Air heel bubbles carry "Mad Wae It" messaging. Our take: this is the most local a Nike release has felt in a while, and the Plus, a shoe the UK has loved for decades, is the right one to wear it.
One thing to know: this is a reported release. Nike hasn't announced a date or price yet, and House of Heat expects it to launch through Nike's UK channels. We'll update this post when Nike confirms the details.
