New Balance has another Made in England 991v2 lined up for November 1, and this one looks like the sky right before you cancel your plans. The "Turbulence/India Ink" (U991EC2) pairs grey suede with a deep navy that runs along the lower half of the upper and climbs up to the top eyelets.
Black mesh shows through at the toe, sides and collar, with smooth grey overlays traced in white stitching around the forefoot. Silver-grey "N" logos sit on both sides, the laces are black, and the lining is a lighter grey. The "Made in England" tongue label, the embroidered 991 on the heel and the "v2" hit on the back are all here. Underneath, a charcoal-and-grey midsole with pale cushioning pods keeps things dark and moody. Our take: if the "Iron/Mulch" pair from the same date was too warm-toned for you, this is the cold-weather twin, and it'll hide a rainy commute a lot better.
