adidas just dropped official images of a new Jalen Williams adidas Crazy Energy, and it's basically every camo pattern in the closet thrown on one shoe. Sneaker News has the first look at the "What The Camo" colorway, style code HQ5572.
The upper runs a classic woodland print, the midsole switches to desert digi camo, the collar goes deep green and the tongue gets its own mossy pattern. Bright orange hits the stripes, the heel branding and that wedge in the midsole, so you can actually find your feet in the woods. The left shoe swaps in blue accents with the prints shuffled around, so the pair doesn't match on purpose.
The timing stings. The OKC star was supposed to be having his comeback year, and instead he's expected to miss most of the season after fracturing his leg and dislocating his ankle three games in. According to Sneaker News, adidas still plans to bring his run of Crazy Energy colorways to retail, so this one follows the flame-covered pair that surfaced earlier this month.
Our take: "What The" shoes are only fun when they commit, and this one commits. It's loud, it's a little ridiculous, and it'll look great with plain black sweats so the shoes do all the talking. Get well soon, J Dub.
There's no release date or price yet, so this is a first look with the date TBA. We'll update this post when adidas confirms the details.
