Nike Squares Off the Air Force 1 With the "Squair Toe," Starting November 3 Overseas

The square-toe wave has officially reached the Air Force 1. Per Highsnobiety, Nike is releasing an Air Force 1 Low called the "Squair Toe." Yes, spelled like that. No, it's not a typo, and yes, somebody at Nike is very proud of it.

From the ankle back it's still the AF1 you know: the perforations, the stitching, the chunky cupsole. The change is all up front, where the toe box goes slim and flat-ended like a dress shoe that got lost on the way to the court. Nike also moves it into textured, tumbled leather, so the whole thing reads a little more formal than your beat-up pair of white Ones.

The launch colors are the obvious ones, black and white, and Highsnobiety says it has also seen Western-style and plaid versions floating around. It lands right next to the square-toe takes from adidas and Converse, which means the trend has gone from fashion-week joke to every major brand having one in about a year.

Our take: the black pair is the one. All-black tumbled leather with a square toe actually works under wide trousers, and it's the closest an Air Force 1 has come to being allowed at a wedding. The white pair is going to start arguments. We're here for both.

The details: the Nike Air Force 1 Squair Toe is set to start releasing November 3, 2026 at Nike's overseas stores, per Highsnobiety, and black pairs are already listed at Naked for $150. A US release date and style codes haven't been announced yet, so treat the US timing as TBA. We'll update this post when Nike confirms. In the meantime, browse Nike at ONENESS.
