Tremaine Emory's first real swing with adidas finally has a face. Sole Retriever has the first look at the Denim Tears x adidas Superstar, style code LN3808, and it's dressed in the woven check of a Ghana Must Go bag, the plaid tote you've seen carried across Africa and the diaspora for decades. The previewed images, including on-foot shots of Luka Sabbat, are early, and the release is reported for November 2026 with the exact date and price still TBA.
The build starts with a cream shell toe and midsole, then switches to a white woven base threaded with black, red and blue strips. The Three Stripes go black-and-white two-tone, and the laces and sockliner pick up more cream. Sole Retriever lists the colorway as Cream White/Easy Yellow/Cream White and says it should land through Denim Tears, adidas and select retailers before the month is out, in unisex sizing. Back in September, Sneaker Bar Detroit reported a matching Stan Smith 80 (LN3810) on the same November timeline, so this may be the first half of a pair.
Our take: putting a Ghana Must Go bag on the most recognizable shell toe in the world is the kind of idea that sounds obvious only after somebody does it. It's very Denim Tears, history and culture first, and the slightly worn cream midsole keeps it from looking like a costume. Fair warning, if this hits like the Cotton Wreath stuff did, it's going to be harder to get than an overhead bin on a holiday flight. We'll update this post when adidas confirms the date and price.
