Nike Fills the Air Force 1 Low "Stars" With University Red

Nike Air Force 1 Low Stars University Red JA3769-657

Nike's star-cutout Air Force 1 Low just went full red. Sneaker News has official images of the Air Force 1 Low "Stars" in University Red, style code JA3769-657, the next pair in an inline series that already came through in black and in white earlier this year. It's listed at $125 in men's sizes and is coming soon to Nike.com and select retailers, with no firm date yet, so call the release date TBA for now.

The recipe hasn't changed. Leather stars are stitched across the toe box and quarter like somebody went to town with a cookie cutter, and the whole shoe is dipped in one shade of red from laces to outsole. The only thing that breaks it up is a metallic silver star-shaped lace dubrae, which is a nice little piece of jewelry for a shoe that's otherwise all business.

Our take: tonal red AF1s never really go out of style, and the stars give this one just enough texture to keep it from looking like a basic triple-red. It's also landing right as Travis Scott's star-heavy "GTA 6" AF1s are making noise, but Sneaker News is clear these have nothing to do with that project. Think of it as the version you can actually get without a video game launch party.
