HOKA's Sleeping-Bag Shoe Gets a River Rock Grey and Varsity Navy Colorway for November 5

HOKA basically took a sleeping bag, glued it to a hiking sole and called it a shoe, and honestly, we're into it. The Kaha 2 Frost Moc GTX is back in a new "River Rock Grey/Varsity Navy" colorway, style code 1155210-RYV, and Fullress reports it releases in Japan on November 5 for ¥33,000, through HOKA Japan and shops like BEAMS and UNITED ARROWS. A US date and price haven't been shared yet, so call that part TBA. We'll update this post if it gets a stateside drop.

If you haven't met the Frost Moc, it's the cozy cousin of HOKA's Kaha hiking line. Per Fullress, the quilted upper is packed with 300g of PrimaLoft, the collar is a soft stretch fleece, and the whole thing slips on like a slipper before a toggle quick-lace cinches it down, which you can work with gloves on. Underneath sits the Kaha 2 midsole with a Vibram outsole, and a GORE-TEX membrane plus water-repellent finish keeps your feet dry when the weather turns.

Our take: this is the best color the Moc has worn so far. The oatmeal-grey puffer top over a deep navy sole looks like a vintage ski jacket, and the little olive pull loops and toggle are a nice touch that keep it from going full beige. It's the shoe you buy for the porch, the coffee run and the first snow, and then never take off until March.
