Vans is back to messing with its "Wallabee" skate shoe. Highsnobiety reports a new Premium SF Moc Low "Crafted" in two colorways, black and an off-white Vans calls Turtledove White, and both pairs are already up on Vans Canada for CAD 160, roughly $114. There's no word yet on a US release date, so treat stateside timing as TBA.
The SF Moc Low is the moccasin-style Vans with the soft, suede-like upper that reads more Clarks than skatepark. The Crafted version adds visible hand-done-looking stitching: the Sidestripe is sewn on in contrast thread, and the toe box is covered in a grid of tiny cross stitches. In the all-black pair, it's the kind of detail you only notice up close, which is exactly the point.
Our take: Highsnobiety's writer prefers the clean version, and honestly, fair. But the stitched toe gives the black pair a quiet, workwear-meets-quilt look that works with wide trousers and a chore coat. If your feet want something that looks like it came out of a craft fair run by skaters, this is that shoe.
