Nike Builds a Race-Day System of Speed Around Apex, Alphafly 4, and Swooshfly

Three race shoes, one system. Nike’s newsroom has framed Apex, Alphafly 4, and Swooshfly as a complementary race-day lineup — each built for a different kind of runner, not three versions of the same spike.

Per Nike’s September 30, 2026 newsroom release, the system is meant to make race day feel “more possible, personal and powerful.” Staggered availability: Alphafly 4 in October, Apex in January 2027, and Swooshfly in February 2027, each at nike.com and select retail.

Alphafly 4 sits as the pinnacle marathon tool; Apex pushes stacked Air for elite marathon speed; Swooshfly opens the race-day door with SkyX foam and a carbon Flyplate at a more approachable price point. Same newsroom family — different jobs on race morning.
