Air Jordan 6 “White Infrared” Brings Nike Air Back to the Heel on November 7

The original is coming home. Jordan Brand is bringing back the Air Jordan 6 Retro "White Infrared" on Friday, November 7, and retailer images that surfaced today show the detail fans have been begging for since 1991: Nike Air on the heel.

The build is the OG recipe. White leather covers most of the upper, with perforations on the midfoot panel and collar, plus a white lace shroud and laces. The top of the tongue goes black, Infrared hits the Jumpman and the lace lock, and another flash of red lines the black heel spoiler. Under that spoiler sits a white embroidered Nike Air logo, the part the 2010 and 2014 retros swapped out for a Jumpman. A white and Infrared midsole with visible heel Air rides on a black and icy translucent outsole. Sole Retriever lists it as CT8529-105 in White/White-Light Crimson-Black, $215 for men and $155 in grade school sizes, through Nike and select Jordan retailers online and in store.

Our take: the last White Infrared retro famously came out looking more pink than Infrared, so the bar here is "please be red." From these images, it's red. With Nike Air back on the heel and the OG color blocking intact, this is the version that finally matches the one in your memory, not the one in your closet. At $215 it isn't cheap, but it's also not one of those retros that'll be sitting on the wall till Valentine's Day.

At ONENESS: the 6 isn't on our shelves yet, but Jordan is. Grab the Air Jordan 5 Retro OG "Halloween" in Black / Picante Red (also in grade school sizes), check the Air Jordan 2 Retro Low SP, or browse the full Jordan collection.
