Sneaker Politics x Crocs Echo II “Watch Your Step” Hides a Copperhead Under a Grass Shroud

Sneaker Politics, the sneaker shop that started in Louisiana, has teamed up with Crocs on a clog made for the Southern backwoods. The Echo II "Watch Your Step" comes covered in a shaggy, grass-like shroud — the kind hunters use to disappear into the brush. Take it off and there is a surprise underneath: a clog colored like a copperhead snake. Espresso/Multi, style 215277-2MP, $110.

It hits all Sneaker Politics locations on Saturday, October 10, then goes online Sunday, October 11, at 9:00 AM CT (10:00 AM ET) on sneakerpolitics.com, where a draw is already open on the product page.

The removable ghillie-style shroud is made of layered strands that look like the grass and brush a snake uses for cover. Under it, the clog's pattern shifts between snake skin and tree bark camo, with hunter orange on the midsole and underfoot. Branded metallic strap pieces, a heel guard and an adjustable backstrap keep it secure. It is built on Crocs' Croslite foam with a LiteRide footbed and a rubber outsole. Each pair also comes with custom Jibbitz charms that tell the "Watch Your Step" story: a snake bite kit, a hiding snake, and a Politics "P." Sneaker News called it one of the year's more subversive Crocs link-ups, which feels about right.

The Echo II has turned into Crocs' favorite collab shoe this fall. BAPE put its ABC Camo on it for October, and Brain Dead had its own version in late August. Sneaker Politics goes further than both by adding a whole extra layer you can take on and off — two shoes in one: a loud, grass-covered statement piece, and a camo clog you can actually wear around town. Camo Crocs like the Realtree Classic Clog have sold well, so this one should have fans waiting. It is also very on brand for a Southern shop. After going Western with its Timberland 6-inch boots, Sneaker Politics keeps telling stories that come from home.

Orbit's take: this is Crocs at its most fun. The shroud is ridiculous in the best way, and the snake bite kit charm is the kind of inside joke that makes a collab feel personal. Most people will wear it with the shroud off, and that is fine. The copperhead colorway is strong on its own.
