BAPE's grown-up line is going on an expedition. MR. BATHING APE, the premium menswear label under A BATHING APE, is teaming up with British heritage brand Nigel Cabourn for the first time. Hypebeast Japan reports the FW26 collection releases October 31.

The collection is based on Operation Deep Freeze, the series of Antarctic missions that supported scientific research and supplied polar bases. In other words, it's clothing meant for weather nobody would choose. The main piece is a down jacket (¥143,000) with collab logo embroidery, a camo lining and a shearling collar. Next to it is a B-15C flight jacket (¥110,000) with a chest logo patch. Also in the range: a rib-cuffed turtleneck knit (¥63,800), a half-zip (¥50,600), a crewneck knit (¥63,800) and cargo pants (¥50,600).

Our take: Nigel Cabourn has been making museum-grade expedition gear for decades, and MR. BATHING APE brings sharp tailoring. Hiding camo inside the down jacket is the smartest move here, because the ape is there if you know where to look. The prices fit the polar theme, too. They're arctic.
