Montreal's favorite skate jokers are back at ASICS. Dime teased a new Dime x ASICS GEL-SD LYTE collab on its Instagram with the caption "soon," and Sole Retriever and Fullress both picked it up. No release date or price yet, so for now it's reported, date TBA.
The preview shows two pairs side by side: one in a silvery white gradient, one in a dark black-and-orange fade, both with metallic silver cages, Dime branding on the tongue and a brown houndstooth print on the insoles. It could technically be a split pair, but Dime's track record says two colorways. A matching collab tracksuit, modeled by Dime skater Gabriel Galipeau, is coming too.
The GEL-SD LYTE is built around an egg idea: a hard outer "shell" that wraps from the midsole up over the upper, with a softer inner layer, plus FLYTEFOAM PROPEL cushioning underfoot. Dime and ASICS last worked together a couple of years ago on the GT-2160 and GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII.
Our take: Dime putting houndstooth inside an egg-shaped shoe is the most Dime thing possible. The black-and-orange pair looks like the one that'll go first. Expect a tight drop once dates land.
