Converse Japan × REGAL Revive the ’90s Marine Star as a ¥63,800 Welted Deck Shoe

Converse Japan just put a Goodyear welt under a ’90s deck shoe — with REGAL’s name on the box. The MARINESTAR J PRM (style 33703020) rebuilds Converse’s archival Marine Star with REGAL Shoe & Co. construction: Japanese suede upper, cowhide lining, Ortholite midlayer, elastomer insole, and a Vibram Newflex lug sole. Retail is ¥63,800. Launch is September 30, 2026 as Coming Soon on converse.co.jp.

Official Converse Japan copy and the September 16 PR Times release lock the story: a single white star on the heel counter, REGAL’s Goodyear-welt craft (the insole packs in as you wear it), and co-branded cartons. Sizes run 24.0–27.5 cm on REGAL’s leather-shoe last — Converse notes the fit runs roomier than All Star, recommending about 1 cm down. Black is the only colorway.

This sits in the same Japan-led premium lane as Converse’s TimeLine and Made-in-Japan experiments — heritage silhouette, serious footwear construction, limited domestic window. REGAL Shoe & Co.’s brief (“a new leather-shoe standard for the sneaker generation”) is the collab thesis; Converse brings the Marine Star archive and the star.
